Ever wondered what a billionaire does when he's not fighting crime? Well, Zack Snyder just gave us a peek into Bruce Wayne's incredibly stylish life, showcasing a car that's as iconic as the Batmobile itself.
One of the most exciting parts of any new Batman adaptation is always the Batmobile. It's a symbol of the Dark Knight, and fans eagerly await each new iteration. We've seen it all, from the sleek, powerful cars of the past, like in Batman (1989), Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin, to the massive tank in Batman v Superman, and even a custom muscle car in The Batman.
But here's where it gets interesting: Bruce Wayne can't exactly cruise around in a Batmobile during the day. That's where his other car comes in! And, as you might expect, it's a beauty.
Snyder took to Instagram to share a stunning black-and-white photo of the vintage 1957 Aston Martin DB Mk III that Bruce Wayne drives in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This is the car he uses when he attends Lex Luthor's party, where he first meets Clark Kent. The car also makes an appearance in Zack Snyder's Justice League, where Alfred is seen working on it.
Snyder's caption, "My 1957 Aston Martin, DB mk3 in its natural habitat. Leica monochrome," adds a personal touch, and the photo was apparently taken on the set of Bruce Wayne's home.
Did you know? This specific model is also famous for being James Bond's first Aston Martin, featured in the 1959 film Goldfinger!
According to Aston Martin's website, the Mk III was considered "one of the world’s outstanding sports models." It featured a redesigned engine, delivering more power and torque. It was also the last of the DB models to use the twin-cam six-cylinder engine. The Mk III was launched in March 1957 and was the company's first road car to feature the classic Aston Martin grille. Girling disc brakes became standard after 100 Mk IIIs had been built.
Of course, portraying Bruce Wayne's wealth on screen requires some serious spending. Snyder's Aston Martin wasn't the only luxury vehicle in the DCEU. For Justice League, Warner Bros. teamed up with Mercedes-Benz to create the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo, a concept car originally designed for the game Gran Turismo 6. The model made for Justice League—the only one of its kind—was dubbed BGT.
Bruce Wayne will be back on the big screen in The Batman Part II, which is scheduled for release on October 1, 2027.
